The radar images are currently showing a band of heavy rain is moving across the UK today. The good news, however, is that the rain will be concentrated on areas to the North of our area. We will see the chance of the odd spot of light rain / drizzle early this morning (around 06:00 to 07:30) but this risk will soon reduce. The chance of rain today is around 15%.
We will see more cloud than yesterday but this will not stop some brighter spells developing too. These brighter spells will help lift our top temperature up to around 17c. Overnight the cloud will again dissipate a little and the minimum temperature will be similar to last night at around 7c (last night at 01:55 hours 6.9c).
The pressure charts are still showing the air pressure system is currently made up of a number of “lines” and this means that it will be another breezy day. My instrumentation is currently showing the wind to be blowing from the SSE, however as the day passes I expect the wind direction to move clockwise and be blowing from the SW. The average wind speed today will be around 8mph will gusts around 15mph.
A little more cloudy than yesterday but still some bright spells. Mild with a top of 17c.
