High pressure systems are now moving across the UK. The good news is that the systems are far less complex and are made up of fewer points of pressure. This means that the wind will become less “breezy” as the day passes.
The average wind speed this morning will be around 7mph but as we reach the evening this will be nearer 4mph. The wind will be deriving from the SW first thing this morning but we can expect a shift northwards as the day passes. By the end of the day the wind will be blowing from the NW.
We will see some clear spells in the cloud today and these will allow brighter spells of sunshine. There is also the risk of the odd shower of rain (35% risk of rain). The risk increases during the afternoon. At the moment a large band of rain cloud is to the East of us and, for the time being, appears to be missing our area. Our top temperature will be around 12c.
Overnight the cloud will clear and this will allow the temperature to drop rt oa low of around 3c. Any tender plants that you may have purchased over the last few days will need to be protected.
Bright spells, the risk of showers and a little cooler than of late.
