A change in the air.

First impressions of the weather this morning are very favourable with some watery sunshine breaking through a thin veil of cloud. We can expect this kind of condition to prevail for the rest of the morning.  The sunshine will help our top temperature rise to around 11c.

During the early to mid part of the afternoon the cloud cover will increase and we are likely to see some light rain fall.  The radar images are showing a broad band of rain cloud moving across the UK during the day and our area is in line with the current path of the cloud.  The chance of rain in our area is around 65%.  I would, therefore, recommend getting the lawn cut this morning.

During the evening the cloud will thin again and this will allow temperatures to reach a minimum of around 4c.  Last night’s minimum was 2.9c at 04:03 hours.

The wind will be blowing from the SW and will have an average speed of around 5 mph.

Brighter this morning will showers possible later.

Observations made 08:30 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1021.3 mb ; Temperature : 8.2c; Wind : 4 mph SW ; Relative humidity : 71%; Rain since 00:01 hours : 0.0mm; Rain this month : 6.6mm; Rain this year : 119mm
