Weather report for the 22 April 2013.

A bright start to the day but a complex low pressure system to the N of us is trying to push the high pressure system currently over our area S.

Cloud cover will increase slighty during the morning and, through parts of the afternoon, we will see a general covering. This general covering could be dense enough to bring the odd spot of very light rain (22% chance).  Overall, however, it will be a generally dry day.

With the cloud cover our top temperature will be reduced and the thermometer will only reach around 12c.  This is still a massive improvement from a month ago when the high was only 2c.

Overnight will see the odd break in the cloud and this will allow the air temperature to reach a minimum of 4c-5c.  Last night’s minimum was 4.1c.

The wind will continue to bring warmer air from the SW and the average wind speed will be 5-6mph this morning (ten minute average during observations 4.5 mph).  With the complex low pressure system moving towards our area during the afternoon the wind speed will increase to around 10mph.  The direction of the wind will remain from the SW throughout the day.

Summary.

Cloud increasing but generally dry.

Observations made 06:32 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1015 mb ; Temperature : 4.9c; Wind : 4 mph SW ; Relative humidity : 93%; Rain since 00:01 hours : 0.0mm; Rain this month : 6.6mm; Rain this year : 119mm
