The jet stream is currently running across the UK in a West to East direction and this will bring mild temperatures but generally more cloudy conditions. This is the kind of jet stream positioning we tend to experience during the summer.
Overall the cloud cover will be far more prominent today compared to yesterday and this brings a 25% chance of some very light rain / drizzle today. The biggest risks being when the day begins to cool around drive time tonight.
Our top temperature today will be around 16c and overnight we will only see the thermometer drop to a minimum of 10c.
The wind will be blowing from the SW to WSW at an average speed of around 5mph.
In the next 48-60 hours the jet stream moves position taking a loop towards the NW before heading across the UK. This will bring some cooler average temperatures particularly overnight.
Mild but more cloud.
