Relative humidity high.

A much cloudier day greets us this morning and this will be the picture for much of the remainder of the day.

The jet stream (see image) is  still running across the UK but is now beginning the take an upwards “loop” towards the NW before heading back down to the UK.  This will bring some NW winds as the day passes and lower temperatures overnight (see image).

For today we can expect the odd spell of light rain / drizzle to pop up at any time.  The chances of rain in our area are around 60%. The relative humidity is already showing a reading of 90% which shows that there is moisture in the atmosphere.  It will not take much to turn this to light precipitation.

Our top temperature, due to the cloud cover, will be lower than of late with a top at around 15:00 hours of 14c.  Overnight the minimum temperature will be lower than we enjoyed last night (10.2c at 02:50 hours) at around 4c.  Any young plants should be protected.

The wind will start off from the SW but as the day passes (and probably by tomorrow morning) we can expect to see a WNW-NW wind direction.  The average wind speed will be around 5mph.
