In yesterday’s blog we discussed the position of the jet stream and, as forecast, this is bringing cooler winds from the NW to our area today.
We will also see a mixture of sunshine, cloud and the risk of rain showers throughout the day. Yesterday we received around 0.6mm of rain which was just sufficient to water the hanging baskets.
Our first risk of rain is around 08:30 hours when a very small band of rain is heading our way via Oswestry. This small band of rain may simply blow by but the elements for a rain shower are all there. Rain is heavier the further SW you go towards Kent.
Our top temperature today will be just into double figures at around 11-12c by mid afternoon. Overnight we can expect temperatures to dip to a minimum of around 2-3c. Once again, can I issue my warning to you to protect any young and tender plants overnight.
The average wind speed today will be around 6mph and the wind will be deriving from the NW. This wind direction will bring the wind chill factor into effect as the air it brings will be cooler.
Summary.
Some bright spells but cloud and the risk of the occasional rain shower too.
