Two sweaters for the fielding side?

A very bright start to the day today but when you step out you will immediately notice the cool breeze that is accompanying the sunshine.

Like yesterday our winds are deriving from the NW-NNW and are adding some wind chill effect to the top temperature.  With an average wind speed of around 6mph this make the temperature “feel”around 1.3c less than the actual air temperature.

Our top temperature today will be around 10c which is pleasant enough if you are walking or cycling but not really great if you are fielding at long leg at the cricket.  It is a two sweater day today for all you league cricketers!   Overnight will be another cool affair with the minimum temperature around 2c.  (Last night’s low was 1.9c at 05:58 hours).

As the day passes (particularly after lunch and during the early evening) we see outbreaks of rain showers – similar to yesterday.  As an aside whilst I was out and about in Erdington yesterday afternoon there was even some hail falling.  In general the rain will be light although the heavier showers of rain will probably be towards early evening 18:00 hours -19:00 hours.

Some bright spells but rain showers and cool winds too.

Observations made 07:33 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1015.5 mb ; Temperature : 4.6c; Wind : 6 mph NNW ; Relative humidity : 83%; Rain since 00:01 hours : 1.0mm; Rain this month : 8.8mm; Rain this year : 121.2mm
