As we discussed yesterday rain has already fallen in our area overnight/ early this morning and we can expect some more, generally light, rain up to noon / early afternoon. It will not be raining throughout this period but during this time the rain clouds are passing through our area on their journey from the SW towards the NE.
The low pressure system that is creating this change is made up of a number of isobars and this means that, a times, it could also be a little breezy at times. Initially the wind will start off from the E but by the end of the day we can expect the wind direction to emanate from the SW. The average wind speed today will be around 6mph with gusts up to 18mph.
As we pass from the daylight hours the cloud will thin and temperatures will reduce as a consequence. overnight the minimum temperature will be around 7c. The daytime high will be around 15-16c.
Looking ahead the GFS charts would suggest we will see more rain during tomorrow.
Cloudy with outbreaks of rain clearing later.
