A low air pressure system is currently (07:40 hours) moving across the UK from the WSW corner. This system is bringing a band of rain cloud with. Currently the rain cloud is above our area and we should expect to see (feel) some light rain particularly this morning although the threat remains for the majority of the day. Any rain that does fall will be on the light side and we will see plenty of dry spells in between any showers. The chance of rain today is around 86%.
With the extra cloud comes a reduction in daytime temperatures. Our top temperature today will be around 15-16c, however overnight due to a SSW wind, the minimum temperature will be above double figures at around 12-13c.
The chances of seeing any brighter sky will be restricted to a few opportunities today. The radar images are only really showing any break in the cloud base around early evening (say, 19:00 hours).
The wind today will be from the ESE -SE this morning moving clockwise so that is originating from the SSW by late afternoon. The average wind speed will be around 7mph with some gusts of around 15mph.
Cloudy day with the chance of some light rain.
