Once again high air pressure is dominating our area whilst the jet stream is running across the UK from the WSW. This combination is bringing us some mild weather and a little cloud cover.
This morning the cloud will remain with us for the first part of the day but, as the air temperature warms, we will see the cloud cover fragment to allow some bright spells. Our top temperature today will be around 21-22c. This will be similar to yesterday’s high of 21.8c at approximately 16:00 hours. Overall yesterday was a very mild day with a mean temperature of 15.4c. I don’t expect today to be much different.
With the additional heat today the pollen count is high. The UV index is 5.
With any cloud there is always the risk of an isolated shower, however, the risk in our area is less than 20%. If you want to put out your washing or plan to cut the grass I feel that you are safe to do so as any rain would be short lived.
The wind will be light today and from the SW initially before moving towards the WSW. The average wind speed will be around 5mph.
Summary
Cloudy start but brighter and mild later. Some bright spells too as the day passes.
