A low pressure system is centred on the UK at the moment and this is bringing the gusty SW breeze we are encountering at the moment. The strong breeze will probably remain with us throughout the weekend. The average wind speed today will be around 10-12mph with gusts around 22-25mph.
With the SW breeze the wind will be warm and this will help temperatures reach a top temperature of around 17c by mid afternoon. Overnight the minimum temperature will be similar to yesterday at 11c. (Last night’s low was 11.1c at 02:39 hours).
There are plenty of rain clouds in our area today. The radar images are showing that there is currently (09:00 hours) a system moving across our area. Not all rain clouds will deposit rain as many will simply blow by, however, we will see more rain today and, in particular, around lunchtime and early evening. Overnight we have already received 3mm of rainfall in our area.
Later in the day there is a chance of the clouds fragmenting a little to allow some brighter spells.
Finally, for the hay fever sufferers amongst our readers the rain will bring a little respite although the pollen count is still moderate.
Breezy with the chance of some rain showers.
