The jet stream is now getting firmly established above our area and the only part of the UK to see rain today will be the northern tip of Scotland. By late evening even this most northern part of the UK will begin to see brighter spells. Looking ahead the current jet stream forecast images would suggest that we are set for a spell of good weather for around 10 days.
Today will be a very bright day with plenty of sunshine (around 14 hours). We will see elevated temperatures with our peak being around 24-25c. Overnight will also remain cloud free and should be good for our astronomers. The minimum temperature will be around 14c. Looking back it is only three days ago that our top temperature was lower that our temperature at 08:30 hours today!
With the sun shining so bright the UV factor will be high at 6. The pollen count will be very high.
The wind will be blowing from the SW-WSW at an average speed 5mph.
