After the storm.

After yesterday’s heavy rain when 31.2mm of rain fell in the Hammerwich area and inevitably, flooded the railway bridge the weather today will be a lot calmer today.

We will still have some cloud but this cloud will fragment from time to time to allow for some brightness to shine through.  There is a risk (70%) of a further light showers this morning around 08:30 hours, however, overall the chance of further rain thereon is around 35% during daylight hours.

Today’s top temperature will be around 23c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 15.5c.  Last night the minimum temperature was 16.2c at 05:40 hours.

The pollen count today, after yesterday’s dampening down, will be low to moderate.  This is probably great news to all hay fever sufferers.

The wind today will be blowing from the SW to S.  This will be bringing mild air to the region. This mild air clashing with the low pressure system from the west is what helps creates any rain and, in particular, yesterday’s storm.  The average wind speed will be around 5mph.

A generally cloudy day.  Some bright spells and the chance of the odd shower too.
Observations made 06:36 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.
