This morning brings some dense cloud cover over our area and this brings with it a dull start and a sense that Autumn must be near.
The day will, however, brighten up as the day passes and we will see the temperature rise to a maximum around 20-21c. Overnight the cloud cover will dissipate leaving us with a partly clear night. This will allow the minimum temperature to reach around 11-12c.
The bulk of the jet stream is sitting above the UK although the edges are still running across our area. This jet stream positioning is creating the mild but occasionally cloudy conditions. The cloud will thin for some of the day today and maybe even fragment a little to allow some brighter spells.
With the cloud also comes a slight risk of some drizzle particularly early this morning. The risk , however, is no greater than 10%. We should, therefore, expect our area to stay dry all day.
With a single system of high pressure covering the majority of the UK the winds will be light. The average speed will be around 4-5mph and the wind direction will be from the WSW-W.
A partly cloud day but brightening later.
