Rain in the east

A cloudy start to the morning but the good news is that the air pressure is on the rise.  This should indicate that drier weather is in store for us today and, in general, that is the picture.

The jet stream is running down the country from the NW today and with it is bringing some cooler air and it is also forming a low pressure system out off the East coast.  This low pressure system will bring rain to Norfolk, Leicestershire and may just bring the odd shower to our region around mid afternoon.  The odds are, however, that we are just a little too far West for the system to reach us.

During the day the cloud will thin enough to allow for some brighter spells.  The top temperature will be around 14c and overnight the low will be around 10c.  The wind from the NW will, however, make it feel like a cool day at times.  The average wind speed today will be around 8mph.
