Soggy Sunday.

When you open the curtain this morning, whatever time you get up, you will see thick cloud and rain falling.  It certainly isn’t a morning for gardening but more for green house or potting shed indoor activities.

The radar images are showing a widespread rain cloud system moving across our area today and it will not pass through our patch until mid afternoon.  The cloud will then begin to fragment a little and we will be left with some odd brighter spells.  Rain will then move in again overnight.

Some of the rain this morning could be heavy.  The radar images are suggesting that we will see rainfall rates of around 5-7mm per hour around noon.  If you need to go to the shops or want to go for a walk or cycle try to wait until 2-3pm today.

Our top temperature today will be reduced due to the cloud cover and the wind direction.  The thermometer will today “top out” at around 11c and see the minimum overnight reach around 8c.

The wind will be deriving from the WNW-NW for the majority of the day with an average wind speed of around 7mph.  Some wind gusts could reach around 20mph.
