The low pressure system that has been with us for the last few days remains over the UK and will continue to bring some inclement weather to our area today.
The radar images are showing that a band of rain cloud is moving towards our area and will be in place by around 07:00 hours. During the morning we can expect to see regular periods of rain falling. The rain radar images are showing that during this initial period the rainfall will be light. Rain will be a consistent threat throughout the morning and early afternoon although we will see some dry spells around 15:00 – 16:00 hours. Further rain showers will then move to our area during the evening.
The wind will be blowing from a generally southerly direction and, therefore, we will receiving some mild temperatures. The mid afternoon top temperature will be around 15c and with the cloud cover the minimum overnight will be around 12-13c.
The wind will get a little blustery as the day passes and we will see the wind gusts reach speeds of around 25mph. The average speed will, however, be around 10-12mph.
