Today sees the return of a high pressure system across our area and this helps to create some brighter and dryer spells for our area. The high pressure system is sitting out to the WSW of out the UK and this will create a WNW- NW breeze in our area by mid afternoon. (Winds move in a clockwise direction around the points of pressure within a high pressure system).
Our top temperature, despite the bright and sunny spells , will be around 10c. Overnight, with little cloud for protection, the minimum temperature will be around 2-3c. Once again gardeners should consider protecting any young or tender plants.
The risk of rain in our area is less than 20% today and I expect that we will see a dry day. Yesterday just over 4mm of rain fell in our area.
The wind will start off from the SW but will move clockwise to derive from the WNW – NW as the day passes. The average wind speed will be around 8-10mph by mid afternoon.
A brighter and dry day.
