A mixed bag

Today we have already (06:30 hours) seen around 1mm of rain fall in our area and the radar images show that further rain clouds are moving towards our area from the NW.  Currently it appears that the most dense rain clouds are missing our patch, however, the risk is around 65% that we will see further showers up until early afternoon.

This afternoon we will see the cloud base fragment and even possibly clear to leave us with some brighter spells.  This, however, will not help the temperature rise much above a maximum of 8c.  Overnight the clear sky and NW breeze will see the minimum temperature reach around 1c.  This will bring with it another ground frost.  Gardeners need to be aware and take necessary precautions to protect tender and young plants.

The wind will pick up speed from time to time during the day.  The average speed first thing this morning and later today will be around 5-6mph but we will see periods of higher average speeds (10-12mph) and gusts of around 25mph.  The wind direction will start off from the WSW and will end deriving from the WNW-NW.
