Any change in the weather ahead?

High pressure will continue to dominate over our area until the weekend and so today’s forecast will have a familiar ring to it.

The day will see a variable amount of cloud cover that will allow some brighter spells but is extremely unlikely to bring any rain.  The chance of any rain today is only around 20%.   It will be a cool day with a top temperature of only 5c.  Overnight the low will be around 1c (last night’s minimum temperature was 3.5c at 00:00 hours).

The wind will continue to derive from the NW but will only be blowing at an average speed of around 4mph.

The GFS models are showing that widespread rain will move across the UK towards the end of the week and, in particular, on Saturday.  This is not good news if you will be out and about on one of the busiest shopping days on the calendar.  There is, however, plenty of time to go before Friday and Saturday and things can certainly change.
