There is a very subtle change to the jet stream today but one that I think we will all notice by tomorrow morning. As the day passes the jet stream will move closer to the UK as it moves south. This will bring slightly warmer temperatures to our patch as time passes.
For today we will start off cold with the air temperature around 2.5c at approximately 07:00 hours (last night’s minimum temperature was -0.1c at 01:59 hours). We will see the thermometer rise to around a maximum of 4-5c by mid afternoon. it is around this time that we will then begin to see the impact of the jet stream movement.
Overnight the air temperature will continue to rise and by tomorrow morning, at drive time, the air temperature will be around 6c. This rise in the air temperature could cause some fog and mist.
The wind today will be deriving generally from the WNW at a speed of approximately 5mph.
Today will be a generally cloudy but dry day with just the occasional brighter spell.
Getting warmer overnight. Daytime dry but cloudy.
