Mild not bitter

Today will be another mild day temperature wise with the thermometer reaching a maximum of around 9c (we may even push just into double figures). Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 3-4c.

The noticeable feature of the day will be some increased wind speeds.  Our average wind speed today will be around  10mph although some gusts will see speeds of up to 25mph.  This is all due to a movement of the jet stream position which in turn has created tighter isobars and hence the increased wind speed.  The wind will be deriving in an arc from the WSW to NW.

The day will be generally cloudy with just the occasional brighter spell.  There is a moderate (30%) risk of some isolated very light rain from around drive time this afternoon to mid evening.

Looking ahead the temperature seem to dip again from Tuesday onwards next week.  Back to de-frosting cars and finding out your hat and gloves.
