A cool journey to work

Today starts off significantly cooler than yesterday.  There is a grass frost following some overnight rain / sleet (3mm since 00:01 hours) and the air temperature is less than 2c (at 06:30 hours).  When we add in the wind chill effect the outside temperature feels like a very chilly 0.7c.

The day will, however, brighten up and we will see the sun break through the clouds for a few hours during the day.  As the daylight hours come towards their end the cloud cover will increase and eventually bring more rain to our area.  The rain will be wide spread across our patch from around 20:00 hours and we can expect showers until morning drive time tomorrow.

Our top temperature today will be a cool 5c (and in the wind chill it will feel more like 2c) but by tomorrow morning, at around 06:30 hours, we should expect to see that the air temperature has risen to around 8c.

The wind will be blowing from WSW-SW and the average wind speed will be around 6mph this morning rising to around 12mph later in the afternoon.
