A new weather challenge

There is a different weather challenge for our journey to work today as a layer of mist is lying over our area.  This may be dense enough to be classified as fog in places (less than 200m of visibility) so care needs to be taken particularly if you are going to be travelling at speed on say, the A38 or one of the motorways.

The fog will slowly clear as the morning passes (and the day warms up) but we will not see bright sunshine of yesterday.  Today will be a much cloudier affair.

By early evening (around 18:00 hours) the risk of rain from a system that is coming in from the W will increase and we can expect some moderate showers up until almost the end of the day.

Our top temperature today will be around 5c and overnight with the extra cloud cover to help keep in the earth’s residual heat the low will be around 4c.

The wind will be light this morning (around 4mph) increasing to around 10mph as the rain moves towards us.  The wind will be deriving from a SSE-SSW direction.
