After a cool night, when the minimum temperature reached a cool 1.7c, today’s journey to work first thing this morning will also require your hat and gloves. With a breeze of around 5mph this morning it will feel more like -1c outside up to around 10:00 hours.
Two key things will happen today. Firstly, we can expect the SE-SSE wind to increase in speed as we reach the a afternoon and early evening. At it’s peak we can expect an average wind speed of 12-15mph but gusts could reach 35-40mph.
Secondly, a band of rain cloud will move into our area by midday. This cloud will bring moderately heavy rain, from time to time, to the area. We can expect showers to remain a threat until at least 21:00 hours.
During the day our top thermometer temperature will be around 5-6c but the wind chill will make this feel more like 1c. Overnight, with the cloud cover the minimum temperature will be 4c.
