Calm before another storm?

Today is going to be the best day, weather wise, for the next few days.  After today two low pressure systems will hit our area and these will bring more wind and rain to our area through tomorrow, Saturday and Monday.  Once again the coastal areas will receive quite a battering.

For today in our area it will be a cool and at times slightly breezy day.  The top temperature will be around 6c but this will feel more like 2c with the wind chill. We will, however, see the odd brighter spell.   Overnight with only thin cloud for protection the minimum temperature will reach around freezing point.  We can expect to see frost and ice in the morning.

Today the wind will be from the SW-WSW and will have an average speed of around 10mph with gusts around 25mph (yesterday peak gusts were around 45mph).

We may see the odd shower during the day but these will be very localised and short lived.  The chance of precipitation today is around 60%.

A cold day with the odd brighter spell.
