The weather today will certainly not be bringing a gentle Valentine’s day kiss via a gentle breeze and bright sunshine.
Instead we will see increasing cloud and the radar images are showing that more generalised rain clouds will be moving into our area around 09:30 hours this morning. The risk of rain will remain with us then for the majority of the day. I certainly would not be travelling too far from home without a hat! Some of the rain today will moderately heavy so local flooding can be expected.
Coupled with the rain will increasing wind speeds. Starting off with a whisper first thing this morning we can expect wind speeds to average around 16mph with gusts around 45mph during the afternoon and early evening. The wind will be blowing from a SE-SW arc.
Our top temperature today will be around 7c but it will feel more like 2-3c in the wind. Overnight the low will be around 4c.
