I do hope that you all enjoyed yesterday’s bright day. it is good to see the sun in the sky for a change. Sadly, today will be a cloudy although a generally mild day temperature wise.
The top temperature today will be around 8-9c although with a SE breeze blowing at an average speed of around 8mph this will feel more like 5-6c. The wind will pick up a little speed as the day passes and we could see gusts of around 15mph recorded. This is clearly nothing compared to some of the gusts last week.
The radar images are showing plenty of light rain clouds moving across our area from 07:00 hours onwards. Some of the clouds will deposit some light rain others will simply blow by. The risk of some rain remains with us for the majority of the day. The chance of our area receiving drop or two is high at around 80%.
Overnight the clouds will help maintain the temperature relatively high and the minimum temperature will be around 5c.
Looking ahead the jet stream images are showing that another “loop”, that creates low pressure, is forming out to the SW and this will reach the UK on Wednesday / Thursday. The likelihood is that this system will bring further heavy rain and elevated wind speeds.
A mild day with some rain.
