As we discussed in yesterday’s blog the jet stream is now well and truly set to the south and is creating low air pressure (currently falling rapidly) and this will be bringing rain to the area during the day.
As soon as you step outside you will notice that the wind strength is already greater than we have encountered during the last few days. The average wind speed today will be around 14mph this morning increasing to around 20mph this afternoon. Gust speeds will reach up to 40mph. The wind will be deriving from the SW-SSW.
Our top thermometer temperature will be 14c but with the wind chill this will feel more like 4c lower at 10c.
It will be a cloudy morning with the clouds thickening to bring a 75% chance of rain showers during the afternoon and early evening. Overnight the clouds will clear for a while and this will allow temperatures to reduce to around 2-3c.
The outlook for the next few days is for breezy, cooler and showery weather.
Generally cloudy and breezy with rain showers during the afternoon and early evening.
