Air pressure rising slowly

After yesterday’s rain, when around 8mm fell in our area, today will be a much milder and less damp affair.  Sadly, I cannot report that the day will be completely dry but we are at least heading in the right direction.  The good news is that the air pressure is rising slowly.  The not so good news is that the jet stream remains to the S of the UK for the next few days. This means we can expect the mix of clear spells, showers and cool temperatures to continue for a few days yet.

The day will start off with some bright spells but as the morning passes the density of cloud will increase.  The clouds will, by lunchtime and throughout the afternoon, bring a risk of some light rain in our area.  The chance of rain today is up to 80%.

Our top temperature around 7-8c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 2-3c.

The wind will be light with an average speed of around 6mph.  The wind will start the day deriving from the NW and end the day deriving from the WNW.

Summary.

Some bright spells but cloud increasing eventually bringing showers.
