The change commences

Today sees the beginning of a change to our weather pattern towards a period of more cloud and unsettled weather.  The variation today, however, will be very subtle.

The most noticeable feature of the day will be an increased level of cloud cover.  This cloud cover will not prevent the day being another mild affair with the top temperature still reaching around 13-14c. The second significant feature of the change is the slowly reducing air pressure (1029mb yesterday and 1019mb today).  This is a further, measurable sign, that weather pattern is changing.

It should be noted that there is band of rain moving down the UK during the day and this will bring a 25% chance of drizzle / light rain in our area during the afternoon.  Overall, however, it is likely to be a dry and mild day in our area.

Overnight it will remain dry with a minimum temperature of around 4c.

The wind will be deriving from a SW to W arc during the day and from the NW later in the evening.  The average wind speed will be around 7mph.
