Rain on its way?

Today starts off cloudy and, unfortunately, that is how it will remain for the majority of the day.  The air pressure is falling slowly and the relative humidity is high.  All this adds up to suggest an unsettled day.

The radar images show that rain clouds will move towards our area from around late morning.  The current images suggest that we will see some occasional rainfall from around 14:00 hours and then through the night and into tomorrow morning.  I must stress that it will not rain throughout this period but simply that between these times is the period most likely for rain to fall.  The risk of rain in our area today is 90%.

Our top temperature will be reduced by the cloud cover to around 12c.  Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 7c.

The wind today will bring a bit of a “nip” with it.  The wind will be deriving from the NE-NNE.  The initial average wind speed will be around 5mph but this will increase slightly overnight as the low pressure system, with its tight points of pressure, pushes across the UK.
