A grey start to the day

The radar images are currently showing (06:30 hours) that our area is shrouded in a layer of cloud and that, to the E of us, a system of light rain is working its way towards our area.  The system is only very light and it may well blow past but it does bring a 40% chance of light rain / drizzle in our area from just after 09:00 hours today.

The radar images also show another drizzly rain system moving towards our area during the afternoon but, once again, the risk is low at around 30%.

We will, however, also see some brighter spells during the day and these will help lift our top temperature up to around 16c.  Our overnight minimum temperature will be around 9c.

Th wind will be light and blowing from an ENE-ESE arc.  The average wind speed will be around 4-5mph.

Looking ahead to the weekend.  Saturday looks bright but a few degrees cooler during the day. Bank holiday Monday looks likely to be overcast.

Summary.
