Heading south

The jet stream is currently heading south and this will bring a period of lower air pressure to our area.  During the afternoon we can expect the cloud coverage to increase along with the risk of a rain shower.  The chance of some rain (not for the entire time period) between mid afternoon and mid evening is around 65%.

It will be another mild and at times humid day.  Our top air temperature will reach around 22c although it will feel warmer than the reading due to the humidity.  Overnight we will see the thermometer reach a low of 14c (last night’s low was 13.3c at 05:22 hours).

The wind will be deriving from the SW for the majority of the day.  The average wind speed will be around 5mph.

If you are planning to cut the grass then I would either do it this morning or leave it until tomorrow afternoon.  If you decide to cut the lawn this afternoon you may find it quite hard and hot work due to the high humidity.

Summary.  A warm and cloudy day.  Chance of a rain shower later.
