The jet stream is now firmly “bedded” beyond the southern coast of the UK and this is allowing the cooler northern climate to dominate across our area. This situation is coupled with the remains of a low air pressure system that will maintain a light breeze in our area. There is also a 60% chance of some light rain showers today. The cloud base will be variable today and the coverage will range from 10% to 100%. The period with the least cloud cover will be first thing this morning although the afternoon will also bring some bright spells.

The wind will start off from the SW but as the day passes we can expect to see the wind derivation move clockwise towards the W. The average wind speed will be around 7mph (gusts around 15mph).
