Air pressure reducing as the week closes

The barometer is showing that the air pressure is reducing slowly and the isobar charts are also identifying that a low pressure system, currently centered over north Scotland, will be beginning a journey south over the next few days.

For today this means that that we will receive another cool day with the chance of the odd shower along the way.  Overall, however, it will be generally dry, with just the odd risk of rain.  The radar images are currently (06:20 hours) showing that a light rain cloud will pass over our area around 08:00 hours.  Hopefully this will simply blow by but it does bring a 70% risk of a light shower.

During the morning we will see the odd brighter spell but as the day passes the cloud will have a 65% to 100% covering.  Our top temperature during the day will be around 16-17c and overnight the low will be around 9c.

The wind will be deriving from the SW for the majority of the day.  The average wind speed this morning will be around 5mph.  The wind speed will increase slightly this afternoon (as the low pressure air system moves nearer) to around 7-8mph.

Summary. A generally dry day with just the risk of the odd rain shower.
