Further overnight / early morning rain made our 24 hours total in excess of 20mm. This single 24 hour period was nearly as much rain as we received in the whole of September. The rain will be a good and welcome addition, however, to the lake at Chasewater as it helps raise the water level.
We can expect some further rain showers today and the radar images clearly show some rain clouds heading our way during the morning period. The chance of further rain is at a risk level of around 85%. We will, however, have some dry spells but these will be under a cloudy sky.
The wind will continue to bring cool winds from the NW-NE arc and this wind direction will add some wind chill to the air. The top air temperature today will be around 12c and the overnight low will be around 9c.
The wind will be breezy this morning with an average sped of around 9mph. We will see gust speeds reach around 15-20mph.
Tomorrow sees further rain bands working their way across the UK. This time from a system based in the SW.
