Low Air Pressure Prevails

The isobar charts are clearly showing that low air pressure systems are maintaining their position above the UK.  The barometer confirms this situation with yet another reading around the 990mb mark.

Low air pressure generally means inclement weather and today will be no exception.  The radar images show that although one early morning rain cloud system is generally beyond us another will reach us around 08:00 hours.  This will bring a 80% risk of rain between 08:00 and 10:00 hours.

This afternoon will be generally dry with the odd brighter spell.  Our top temperature will be a mild 11c.  Overnight the low will be around 7-8c.  This evening (mid to late evening) there is a 60% chance of some further rain.

Looking ahead to tomorrow sees another belt of rain moving across the UK from W to E and we can certainly expect to see some showers.  The period of highest risk will be in the mid to late afternoon.

The wind will be from the SE-SSE and will have an average speed of around 6-8mph.

Summary : rain this morning then drying to leave a mild afternoon.
