Today will see a reversal of the weather pattern we enjoyed yesterday.
The radar images are showing that a band of rain will move across the UK from W to E during the day. This rain belt will reach our area by early afternoon and will bring a 85% risk of rain to our area by mid afternoon. The rain will clear our area during the evening only for a further system of rain to reach us during the early morning.
The cloud cover and a warm wind will ensure that it will remain a mild day throughout with a top temperature of around 11c and a minimum temperature of around 9c. This time last year the temperature at 06:35 hours was a cool 2.5c.
The wind will be deriving from the ESE-SE for much of the day. At times it will become a little breezy. The average wind speed will be around 6-8 mph but there will be some gusts that will reach speeds of around 30 mph.
The jet stream continues to sit below the UK and this will mean continued inclement weather over the next couple of days at least.
