Welly weather

Early heavy rain will have left plenty of standing water on the roads – care needs to be taken when making the journey to work or school.

This morning the rain (some of it heavy) will continue to fall in our area until at least 10:00 hours.  The radar images are then showing that the bulk of the rain cloud will be to the E of our area and, although we remain at risk of showers up until noon, the probability reduces as each quarter of an hour passes.

This afternoon we will see the sky clear a little and we will have 2-3 hours of brighter spells.  This will help lift our top temperature up to around 12c.  Overnight with a partly clear sky the minimum temperature will reach a low of around 5c.

The wind today will be deriving from the ESE-SE and the average wind speed will be around 6mph.

Summary :  Rain clearing as the morning passes.  Some brighter spells later.

Observations made 07:19 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure :   994.8mb, Temperature : 11c, Wind: 3 mph ESE, Relative humidity : 88%, Rain this month :  27 mm, Rain this year : 582mm
