Wet start to the day

As I said in yesterday’s blog the commute to work today will, for many, be made in the rain today.  The good news is that the radar images are showing that the majority of the rain cloud will be clear of our area by around 09:15 hours and, therefore, if you want to put your washing out from mid morning onward then there is a 25% risk of further light showers / drizzle.  So far today in excess of 6mm of rain has fallen in our area.

The remainder of the day will be generally cloudy but this cloud will help keep the temperature mild.  Our top temperature will be around 9c and overnight the low will be around 6c.

The wind will start the day deriving from the NW but, as the day passes, it will travel clockwise towards the ENE.  The average wind speed will be around 5-6mph.  Today’s wind will be bringing with it some cool air and, therefore, the top thermometer temperature will feel a degree or two cooler due to the wind chill.

Summary :  A wet start but soon clearing to leave a cloudy but mild day.
