Air pressure increasing

The barometer and the isobar charts both confirm that the air pressure in our area is rising slowly.  The good news is that as the air pressure continues to move beyond the 1010mb mark the chances of rain reduce.

The radar images are currently showing a few rain carrying clouds to the E of us and these will make their way towards our area during the journey to work this morning.  The risk of rain is, however, only around 20% all day.

Although it will be a generally cloudy and mild day we may see the odd brighter spell this afternoon.  Our top temperature will be around 10c and overnight the low will be around 6c.  last night’s low was 6.8c.

The wind will be deriving from NNE-NE this morning moving clockwise towards the E during the afternoon.  This wind direction will always bring a bit of a chill with it and with an average wind speed of 5mph the wind chill will reduce the “feel” of the temperature by a couple of degrees.
