Today will be a little unusual, temperature wise, as the overnight low will be as warm as the daytime maximum. This is due to a band of rain that will be heading into our area from mid evening onward throughout the night. This time last year the daytime high was around 13c.
This morning the radar images are showing some small clusters of rain cloud but the risk of any rain from them diminishes after 08:00 hours. We will then some bright spells and the top temperature will rise to around 6-7c.
As the late afternoon passes you will notice the cloud thicken which will eventually bring some light to moderate rainfall. Overnight some of the rainfall may become heavy. The increased cloud, however, will help maintain the air temperature at around a minimum of 5-6c. (Last night the minimum temperature was 1.8c at 00:07 hours).
The wind will be deriving from the WSW for much of the day and the average speed this morning will be around 4-6mph. As the day passes this wind speed may increase slightly to around 7-8mph with gusts up to 25mph.
