Snow risk?

Today starts off with a mild temperature of around 5.5c at 06:30 hours, however, that temperature is the warmest Tuesday, 13 January will be.  As the day passes the temperature will reduce to around 2c by 18:00 hours this evening.  Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 0c.

The day will continue to be  little breezy but not as bad as previous days.  The average wind speed will be around 9mph with gusts of around 20mph.  This wind speed will reduce the feel of the air by around 2c.  The wind will be deriving from a SW -WSW arc.

The radar images are showing that rain clouds are heading our way during the late morning / early afternoon and this will bring a 70% risk of rain to our area. Some of the rain could fall as sleet. (25% risk of snow).

Overnight, however, the risk of some snow fall does increase significantly to around 75% and we are, therefore, likely to see the ground covered when we make our journey to work tomorrow. The conditions at 1.5km above ground tomorrow are near perfect for the formation of snow between 00:00 hours and 05:00 hours.

A day that cools as it passes.  Some rain and sleet during the afternoon.  Snow possible overnight.
