A turn for the worst

The jet stream has began to turn southwards before reaching the UK and this will bring with it some inclement weather to our area today.  It is certainly a turn for the worst.

The air pressure at 06:23 hours is falling rapidly and the radar images are showing that there is plenty of rain cloud across the UK today.  We are 95% certain of seeing rain during morning  drive time with further showers during the day.  Some of the rain could be heavy in and, in total, we can expect to see around 5-6 mm of total rainfall today.  If you are going out then you will need to take your umbrella with you.

Our top temperature today will be around 8c whilst the overnight low will be around 3-4c.

Coupled with the rain will also be a steady SSW – WSW breeze which will average a wind speed of around 12 mph and gusts will reach gusts speeds of around 25 mph.  As the evening passes the wind speed will reduce slightly.

Also as the evening passes and during the early hours the rain will become less frequent and eventually die away.  Tomorrow will see a return to the general cloud and the odd shower.

Summary.  A mild day with a  high risk of rain.
