Thankfully, Friday the 13th passed by with only a few mishaps and we can now look forward to a weekend of rest and relaxation and for today, at least, the weather will help expand our choice of things to do.
For today the jet stream is riding high above the UK and this means that the warm air from the south will mix more with the cool air from the north giving us a general cloud covering for the majority of the day. The cloud cover will be low to medium. The cloud may, however, fragment from time to time to bring some occasional brighter spells.
The air pressure is rising and this generally indicates a dry day but with this amount of cloud we cannot discount the odd light shower particularly around midday and when temperatures begin to cool around 16-17:00 hours. The chance of rain, however, is only around 30% and any rain will be very light and short lived. This low risk should not put you off making any trips.
The wind will be bringing cool air from a NNW-NE arc but the wind will be light. The average wind speed will be around 6mph.
Our top temperature today will be 6c and overnight the low will be around 2-3c.
Summary. A generally cloudy day with only small risk of rain.
