Some welcome rain

As you will have no doubt observed it has been a bit wet and windy during the early hours of today.  We have had around 6mm of rain fall in our area and there is a risk of further rainfall this morning.  The risk of rainfall from the early morning system appears to be beyond our area by 10:30 hours.

It has been a very dry month and, therefore, some rain was needed to redress the balance a little.  So far we have only received around half of the “normal” rainfall for the month of March (around 60mm)

By mid morning, however, the rain clouds will be generally beyond our are and we may even see some brighter spells break through fragmented cloud.

Our top temperature will be around 9c and overnight the low will be around 2-3c.

The wind will be deriving generally from the SW with the average wind speed around 5-6mph.  Some gusts could reach around 20mph.

Summary.  After a damp stat the day will improve to bring some brighter spells.  Breezy early on.
