13 May 2015 – WS7 Weather

Today sees high pressure settling in our area during daylight hours.  Overnight, however, the situation will change.

Today will be a partly cloudy day with many bright spells.  Despite the occasional cloud cover it will be a generally mild day with a top temperature of around 15c.  The risk of any rain is very low today at only 7%.

Late evening and in the early hours of tomorrow a low pressure system moves into our area and this will bring with it a very high risk of rain tomorrow afternoon.  Our overnight temperature low tonight will be around 6c.

The wind will start off from the SW but as the high air pressure gets “squeezed” out by the low pressure system we will see the wind direction move clockwise ending the day deriving from the E.  The average wind speed today will be around 4mph.

Over the weekend the jet stream will sit to the northern part of the UK.  This positioning tends to bring cloudy but generally dry weather in our area.

Summary.  Another mild day with bright spells  and very little risk of rain.

Observations made 06:32 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1020.4mb ; Temperature 7.4c; Relative humidity : 84%; Wind 2mph SW; Rain this month : 32mm; Rain this year : 161mm.
