A return to high pressure

It is a bright start to the day and with the jet stream sitting to the north of the UK and this is producing a system of high pressure above our area.  We can, therefore,  expect today to be a pleasant affair.  This time last year was very similar weather wise.

There will be some medium level cloud from time to time but this cloud bed will not prevent us from receiving plenty of bright spells too.  Our top temperature will reach around 17c and our overnight low will be around 7c.  The risk of rain during today (Thursday) is around 8%.

There is a slightly increased risk of an isolated shower during the early hours but even this is only a 20% risk.

The wind will deriving from the WSW and the average speed will be around 6mph.

The pollen count today is moderate and the UV index will be around 5 which means that some skin protection should be taken if you are likely to spend extended periods outdoors today.
